Frequently Asked Questions
-
Why is my Extra Virgin Olive Oil cloudy-solidified ?
Cool temperatures cause the waxy esters in Extra Virgin Olive Oil to solidify. This often happens in the winter, in cool stores or during shipping in cold weather.
-
How to turn Extra Virgin Olive Oil back to it's clear state?
Allowing it rise to room temperature will generally clear up the cloudiness. If after coming up to room temperature there is still some residual discoloration, you may place the bottle in a warm temperature water bath to completely clarify it. Use caution and do not use hot water, as this could affect the quality the product.
Katsa Extra Virgin Olive Oil is not harmed by cold or freezing. Again, this process doesn’t affect the quality — it will be the same Katsa Extra Virgin Olive Oil when you bring it back to room temperature and it becomes liquid again.
-
Why is my honey crystallized ?
The crystallization of Raw Honey is natural, spontaneous process and the main reasons behind it are the temperature, the pollen, and the ratio of glucose and fructose in the honey. Katsa Raw Organic Honey has a natural tendency to crystallize over time with no effect on the honey other than color and texture.
Crystallization actually preserves the flavor and quality characteristics of your Katsa Raw Organic Honey.

How to turn my crystallized honey back to liquid?
You can easily de-crystallize honey using the following steps:
- Make sure your honey is in a glass jar (not plastic).
- Place your jar (lid removed) in a pot of hot water on the stove, allowing the honey to heat up and liquefy.
- Without boiling the water, slowly heat the honey, stirring it occasionally.
- Remove jar when crystals have dissolved.
- Tightly seal jar and store in a cool, dry place.
